Ha-Ha Interesting Old Ppl News

Dharmendra or “Dilawar Khan?”

Film star Dharmendra, now a BJP MP, could not have thought in his wildest dreams that his second marriage to “Aaisha Bi R. Chakravarty” alias Hema Malini would come to haunt him one day. Dharmendra had converted to Islam to marry Hema Malini as Hindus are not allowed second marriage. Their marriage was solemnised on 21 August 1979 in Bombay in accordance with Islamic rites. He had married Hema while his first wife Prakash Kaur was still alive. Had he not contested the Lok Sabha elections from Bikaner, the matter probably would not have come to light.

While filing his nomination papers as a BJP candidate before the returning officer, Dharmendra had written his name as Deol Dharmendra Kewal Krishn concealing his Muslim name Dilawar Khan and wrote the name of his first wife in the respective column. When his political rivals brought the issue to the notice of election authorities and the general public, he denied his conversion to Islam and change of name. But Delhi magazine Outlook published a photocopy of his Nikahnama (marriage document) which clearly said that Dilawar Khan Kewal Krishn (44 years) accepted Aisha Bi R. Chakravarty (29 years) as his wife on 21 August 1979 at a mehr of, Rs 111,000 in the presence of two legal witnesses…’ The nikah was solemnised by Maulana Qazi Abu Talha Misbahi Faizabadi.
Two Congress leaders of Madhya Pradesh, Akhtar Baig and KK Mishra filed a lawsuit against him in Indore’s sessions court demanding rejection of his nomination papers on account of submission of false information and concealing his conversion to Islam and adoption of a Muslim name, demanding trial under section 420 of IPC.According to Akhtar Baig and Congress leader from Rajasthan, Nawal Kishore Sharma, under Hindu Marriage Act, a Hindu cannot take a second wife if the first wife is still alive. However, he can marry for a second time if he has divorced his first wife or embraced Islam.

I thought Hema Malini was hot back in the day- and definitely one of those women that have aged well. Actually its kind of a tangent, but its good to see that most Indian Actresses have aged really well- Dimple Kapadia, Rekha, Sridevi, Sharmila Tagore, Simi Grewal ... Now if we could only say the same of the Indian men :)

Time Pass

Okay, so there is seriously nothing NOTHING going on in Bollywood worth talking about these days. So we thought, what better than to stir up some old shyte .. Here is a loooong transcript of one of the most explosive stories from the last year. Yep the Salman-Ash tapes!! I still can't hardly believe half of the stuff in here despite evidence to the contrary:

Note the following excerpts have been taken from Mumbai Mid-Day, Hindustan Times etc:

Explosive transcripts of a conversation between Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai were released by a paper this morning. Hindustan Times reported in its Mumbai edition launched today, Salman told his then lover Aishwarya that he had connections with the underworld. The paper’s editor, Avirook Sen, said he had authenticated the tapes' contents. “These telephone conversations between Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai were recorded between August 28 and 30, 2001.
Furious Salman accused Ash of sleeping with all her co-stars and bragged about affairs with Preity, Dia. In January 2001, Aishwarya Rai was part of an event called Craze 2001, where she, Aamir Khan, Anil Kapoor, Preity Zinta, Gracy Singh and the entire cricket team from Lagaan did 16 shows across Europe, Canada and USA. Ash was packing to leave for the show. Salman starts calling her on the eve of her departure. The conversations start friendly enough, but rapidly degenerate into threats, boasts and abuse.

Salman: Madam ko phone dena
Ash: Hello? Bolo baba
SK: I am not your baba
Ash: What is wrong now?
SK: Your baba could be dad. Anybody. It could be anybody from Nikki to Farukh, Shah Rukh to Abhishek to anybody.
Ash: Stop it, what is wrong with you?
SK: Something that you would know. You blame me for destroying your life. Sit down peacefully.
SK: Exactly. Can I go on and on about you?
Ash: Salman Khan, you have already gone on and on about me
SK: Now what?
Ash: You are only saying…
SK: You have to leave. It’s already 2:15
Ash: I am sending my bag
SK: That is OK. You are carrying extra baggage
Ash: What?
SK: You are carrying extra luggage.
SK: You are carrying a lot of extra luggage with you. As much as I can take off you, I’ll take off you. Did I hurt you big time? I should be calling around. You should not be calling around. Somy didn’t complain of that
Ash: Complain about what?
SK: That I need to sleep. You were awake at 6 o’clock in the morning
Ash: Didn’t I take your call?
SK: I came back at 3, 4, 5 in the morning
Ash: Anything else, Salman Khan?

When Ash would go to Salman’s home, his parents allegedly made her feel unwelcome.

Ash: Salman Khan, I was thrown out of your house
SK: You said you were leaving so what should I do? They were all on your side.
Ash: I could have sat there; what were you doing there?
SK: Exactly. You were complaining

Somy Ali was Salman’s girlfriend before Ash. But even after breaking up with Somy, Salman refused to throw her out of his life and Ash naturally wanted to be the only woman in his life. It made them fight a lot. There were also rumours that Salman was married to Somy. This message was left on Somy’s voicemail

SK: Somy aao beta. Tum ne phone off kiya, aur tum bolti ho ki mujhe yeh karna hai, woh karna hai. Phone off kyu kiya? Raat bhar off kiya. Uske pehle bhi off kiya. Aur mujhko blame karti ho tum. Oh you have lost a Salman Khan, you have lost a Salman Khan. Ghar ka phone off kar diya aur mobile bhi off kar diya(on a phonecall)
Somy: Off nahin hai, Salman Khan
SK: Tum hamesha sab ka phone leti ho

Salman always thought Ash had an affair with all her co-stars, including Aamir and Abhishek. On the sets of Rohan Sippy’s Kuch na kaho, he stormed onto the sets and crashed against Aishwarya’s car.

Ash: Don’t you ‘dare’ me!
SK: Don’t you dare f**k with me, Ash.
SK: Put the phone down you f***ing bitch. F**k Aamir, F**k Aamir, F**k Aamir, F**k Aamir. You f***ing bitch. You f***king slut. F***k Abhishek. F***k Aamir. In your f***ing history. F***ing slut. Nobody has been f***ing like people have f***ked you. You f***king slut.
Ash: Like what?
SK: Put the phone down, it’s a mistake. It’s a mistake calling you up! It’s a mistake calling 100 people to get your number! It’s a mistake finding out how you are! By the time you come back, I am going to get married. F**k you, slut. You b***h. Are you Aishwarya Rai? Are you Aishwarya Rai?

Salman would beat Ash. Ash came to a film awards night wearing dark glasses saying she had slipped and fallen against the steps. Salman would keep getting into fights with her father, break glass and doors at her home, call her at odd hours and harass her parents. He also had other affairs during their relationship but would keep tabs on Ash all the time.

SK: I used you. I used you. I used you right. I used you. The way I used you, you used me. I am glad you woke to the way you used me like I used you. Once in a while, when you fucked my happiness, once in a while. Now 47 days from today. 47 days!
Ash: You are counting all the days.
SK: If Aamir calls you at 5 or 6 in the morning, your mom will be more than happy. Aamir is going to f**k my daughter, a married man, but she has problems with Salman Khan!
Ash: (inaudible)
SK: Yes I like his b***s. So do you.
Ash: Enough!
SK: And you will get to them before I do. And you will lick him through his underwear.

When Ash avoided his calls, he would call her spot boy or make-up man and find out where she was.
SK: Aishwarya Rai, Aishwarya Rai, I had to call up 100 people to get through to your mama
Ash: You abused me. You come inside and abuse me?
SK: He is good for you. He does not talk about you to anybody
Ash: Which conversation?
SK: Aamir’s conversation
Ash: This is one big rubbish

There have been no rumours linking Salman and Preity

SK: Aamir Khan chaat raha hai aur bhag gaya chheen ke. Akshay Khanna chat raha tha aur bhag gaya. He is sorry.
Ash: Sorry. Do you remember the good time we had watching Biwi Number 1?
SK: Who is interested in Aa Ab Laut Chale? You know I f**ked Preity Zinta on the sets of Chori Chori Chupke Chupke. Quite a f**k.
Ash: Don’t try to maro line.
SK: I don’t want that bitch’s number. I want your number.
Ash: You tried your luck.
SK: Yeah. I did that. But it is not a problem.
SK: She’s masturbated on me 100 times.
Ash: To make her what?
SK: Take it easy, Ash.
Ash: No, no
SK: Take it easy.
Ash: Take her what?
SK: I said thrice. This is the fourth time. I can make Preity Zinta masturbate on the floor any time. You have all the shit. You know all that stuff. Come on, Ash, you’re going to meet Aamir right now!
Ash: Stop all the crap.
SK: What, we’re talking crap right now? Yeah, right.
Ash: That wasn’t an honest request.

Aishwarya Rai was in the US for a show Craze 2001, when Salman called her.

SK: Those guys will take care of you. Apurva (Sohail Khan’s assistant) and others have been instructed. The Moranis are scared too. There is no problem.
Ash: ...Apurva is really sweet but...
SK: He better be, he better be. Like Abu Salem who is sweet to you. He will be sweet to you and say, ‘Aye b*******d to Preity Zinta. Because of my connections with the underworld, a man like Abu Salem will be sweet to you and be rude to Preity and Anil Kapoor and all those people.
Ash: Stop talking rubbish.
SK: It’s a fact, okay!

Salman and Dia Mirza allegedly had an affair during the Jodhpur outdoor shoot of the film Tumko Na Bhool Payenge

SK: I have the power to do that. Do you know the underworld people call me at 12 at night because I am the main guy in Bombay. You know the underworld is controlled by me? You know I can do that. Why are you saying I’ll be in trouble?
Ash: I heard about Dia Mirza.
SK: Ah. I f****d Dia Mirza too. Hello?

Zee Movie Awards 2006

Just saw the Zee TV Movie Awards last night. They were held in Mauritius last week and broadcasted LIVE!!! After my post about the Filmares, I wanted to share my opinions about the Zee awards. I liked these MUCH better than the Filmfares. The performances were more creative. The host, Karan Johar, was more together and did a great job at entertaining the audiences. The sets were much larger and better managed. The show flowed smoother than most others. Pace was much faster so kept you interested in watching the show. The film industry presence wasn't as high but considering it was in another country, the turnout wasn't bad at all. Apparently they flew out actors in several chartered 777's .... can u imagine .... being on a plane full of actors and directors and producers .... it looked like a lot of fun. The big-wigs like Yash Chopra & Himesh Reshamia & Saif Ali Khan got to sit in First Class while new comers and lil' people like Kalyug star Kunal Khemu & Rand De Basanti's Sharman Joshi had to ride economy. It looked like a blast regardless.

Winners were the same ... Black: best movie, diretor, actor, actress. That has been the case at EVERY award show this year. Rest of the not so interesting awards were also very similarly handed out w/ Parineeta, Iqbal & Black sharing most of them.

How Abhishek dumped Dipannita

Dipannita Sharma While Abhishek Bachchan might be basking under the glory of newfound love with Aishwarya Rai, his former girlfriend, Dipannita Sharma, is yet to come to terms with the break-up of their 10-month relationship. After Mumbai Mid-Day broke the news, Dipannita confronted Abhishek and the duo parted ways on January 30. While she’s yet to break her silence, Dipannita’s close friends in the modelling circuit say “Abhishek hurt her feelings and put an end to the relationship in the most cowardly way.” Party pooper

Abhishek Bachchan says a close friend, “Abhishek initially appeared to be the most genteel guy on earth, but turned out to be the opposite. Before they broke up, Dipannita wanted to do something special for her beau’s birthday (February 5). But Abhishek said that he was busy shooting around-the-clock, and had no intentions to celebrate because of his father’s recent illness. Later, he had a grand bash at his bungalow, with Ash as a special guest. Dipannita wasn’t even invited; that shows his true character.” Adds an actor who attended the bash, “I even messaged Dipannita, and she said she wasn’t aware of the party.” Aby did the chasingSources say it was Bachchan Jr who had pursued Dipannita for more than two months before they started dating. “It was Abhishek who used to make incessant calls to her and cajole her to meet him. He had attributed it to her simplicity, honesty and beauty. From a well-known family of freedom fighters, in Assam, she wasn’t too keen on dating someone from the industry.

Gradually, things worked out but Abhishek never had the guts to acknowledge the relationship. He always advised her to keep a low profile and never declare their relationship when questioned by the media. I would say Abhishek fooled Dipannita. And today, his friends Sonali Bendre and Goldie Behl call Dipannita to ensure her well being. This is ridiculous.” Bips warned herSays another source, “After Abhishek started shooting for Umrao Jaan in Jaipur, he would keep telling Dipannita that hectic work and his mood swings were taking a toll on their relationship. And that was unfair on her.”It is learned that Bipasha Basu had cautioned Dipannita.

Says the same source, “Bipasha and Dipannita used to be roommates during their modelling days. Bipasha had told her about Abhishek’s growing fondness for Ash.” Meanwhile, Dipannita has just returned after a short vacation to her hometown. Nursing a broken heart?

Aamir Vs Shahrukh

This is how most of our days are spent .. chattinig away about endless topics. We thought we'd share our views in a slightly off-beat manner. So here's a look at our thoughts through our chats.

Bulbuli:
have u seen my wife’s murder?
btw .. i saw part of rang de basanti .. kinda boring Chulbuli:
WOW ure the only one thats said that
how did u see it ? at the theatres ?
Bulbuli:
i think everyone talked it up so much
it was boring the crap outta me
no .. online
Bulbuli:
but i loved my wife’s murder
Chulbuli:
lol thats nice
Chulbuli:
welll - i dont think it would translate online
Bulbuli:
maybe
Chulbuli:
i mean its not an obvious movie- and it was trying to convey a lot so im sure it would be hard to enjoy it online
Bulbuli:
probably
coz i was having a hard time even wanting to watch it -i mean it seemed kinda dumb..the jokes weren’t that funny and the story seemed kinda boring
but yea .. its a diff exp online
Chulbuli:
well theyre not obvious jokes- i mean its like dil chahta hai- none of those jokes have a punch line per se its just every day living
Bulbuli:
hmmm
i feel like aamir khan is sooo overrated
i mean he’s a good actor .. but even his acting is so repetitive
Chulbuli:
mannnn.... ure crazy
Bulbuli:
its the same person
same arrogance
same pride
all this characters are so similar
Chulbuli:
i dont think so at all ... its a totally different person
Bulbuli:
i never feel that way, not to mention i don’t think he’s attractive at all
Chulbuli:
well this charac. was sorta like the dil chahta hai character
Bulbuli:
i think he’s charming and almost punkish in every movie so i like watching him for that
Chulbuli:
oh yeah i dont think he's attractive- but the characters hes played are so much fun
Bulbuli:
its just funny coz people always make him out to be the better actor
Chulbuli:
he def. is
i think he's one of the best in india
Bulbuli:
but i find his roles to be very similar and his characters consisting of the same personality traits
so then i don’t see whats so bad about shahrukh or salman --they play their roles convincingly
and are better to look at
Chulbuli:
lol i guess- i mean i like shah-rukh's personality but his films are forgettable
Bulbuli:
and i guess i don’t remember aamir
Chulbuli:
like for ex. in RDB- aamir khan is a delhite punjabi and if u listen to how he talks its totally punjabi like
vs in rangeela where he's a total tapori
vs sarfarosh where he is a middle class inspector
vs lagaan where he speaks bhojpuri
that takes work- and most indian actors dont put any work into their movies ...most indian "heros" i should say. Atleast with aamir- ure like he's put some thought into it
Bulbuli:
but i don’t think all that work is so distinct
i mean for me personally
Chulbuli:
but oh well- its a silly argument
Bulbuli:
i don’t really care
i’m not arguing
i’m just saying i think its funny how he’s known to be a “real actor”
Chulbuli:
no i mean if u dont feel it- u dont. But i def. think that he's definitely different than everyone else-
Bulbuli:
and a lotta people share ur opinion
Chulbuli:
i think he does put thought and method to acting instead of just showing up
i know like i make it a point to see an aamir khan movie .. but ive missed SO many SRK or salman movies
Bulbuli:
i don’t miss any shahrukh movies- but i’ve always loved shahrukh .. since fauji
Chulbuli:
im sure u havent seen so many of his movies... he's been in a thousand
Bulbuli:
i’ve seen them ALL
even the crap ones
and slow ones
and dumb ones
ALL
i truly doubt i’ve missed a single one
Chulbuli:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shah_Rukh_Khan
Chulbuli:
have u seen all of these ? gudgudi ? ram jane ?
Bulbuli:
YEP
lol
ALL
i’m telling u
i’m a BIG shahrukh fan
Chulbuli:
hey ram? 1 2 ka 4 ?
Bulbuli:
YEP
seen it ALL
Chulbuli:
army ? chahat ?
gawwwd
thats insane - well i cant argue with that
Bulbuli:
seen it
seen it
EVERYTHING
anything shahrukh was in... i'd watch it
Chulbuli:
lets put it this way- i'd wanna date a guy like shah rukh but watch aamir khan movies
Bulbuli:
see i’d wanan date a guy like shahrukh which is why i LOVE watching his movies
Chulbuli:
thats niice - i think thats called obsession
well i def. am not that biased
i mean i like srk's persona - same as brad pitt --- but i recognize that theres better actors
Chulbuli:
like aamir :)

The Filmfake Awards .. errrr .. I mean Filmfare Awards

As far as my memory takes me, I remember waiting all year long for the one special day that the Filmfare awards would be broadcasted. It was the one day the entire film industry got together and u could see all your favorite stars decked out, performing live, mingling with each other and just plain "being themselves". Especially back in the days, when there was 1 television channel, Filmfare was the only Award Show, Internet didn't exist and gossip was only available through magazines like Stardust and Filmfare but not everyone subscribed to them. I used to adore the star dance performances and speeches and acts. It was a fun-filled-film affair to be longed for all year.

These days, I don't know if its the over-abundance of award shows, or that everything u wanna know about Bollywood is easily available online, or there's just one too many actors to keep track of, or the fact that I was watching these online in a low quality video, or perhaps that I now have a more mature expectation of the quality of these shows since viewing the American Award shows .. whatever the cause the result was the same ...
I have never felt less interested in and more annoyed by the Filmfare Awards.

The dance performances seemed endless and unoriginal. There were a total of 7 (Emraan Hashmi/Neha Dhupia/Udita Goswami, Shamita Shetty, Lara Dutta, Madhuri Dixit, Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, Shiamak Davar) but I really feel like 3 would have sufficed. Madhuri's performance was one that along with all of India I was anxiously awaiting. 3 songs from Devdas that sound very similar and seemed to never end made Madhuri's mildly exciting medley very disappointing for me. I'm sure I'll get beat up by Madhuri fans for saying this but I really was just NOT impressed. Aish's was the same. Lacking originality but atleast hers was short which made it sweet. Abhishek .. well .. I guess he's atleast always good to look at and with his exponentially growing popularity you can never get enough of him. The rest I really could've done without.

The EmCee's attempts at comedy were making me laugh AT them rather than with them. The entire production seemed very unprofessional and poorly managed. The other thing is, I knew Will Smith was attending this year's Filmfare Awards. I know he's used to a much higher quality show and I couldn't help but feel embarrassed, wishing ours were produced better.

India has come a LONG way and I'm sure with time, things will change and with it the quality of these shows. Despite the 100 other award shows and despite my annoyances with this year's show, I still can't help but feel attached to the one and only Filmfare Awards.

Here's a link to the list of winners if u're interested in finding out Overall Black took majority of the awards ... no surprise there!!!

Ash-Abhi shaadi?

Let’s clear two things. One, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan have no plans to marry, as yet. And two, Amitabh’s brother, Ajitabh, is in no way involved in bringing the couple together. Sources close to both the families point out that the prospect of them getting married in the immediate future is extremely bleak. “All this talk about formal announcement being made on Valentine’s Day and their folks rushing them into marital bliss, is completely false. Abhishek and Aishwarya have a long, long way to go,” said a source close to Ash.

A source close to the Bachchans added, “The relation between Amitabh and Ajitabh is strained. There is no way he would be involved in getting Ash and Abhishek together. In fact, he is never a part of the Bachchan family functions and is not asked for opinions on personal matters.” While aides on the sets of J P Dutta’s Umrao Jaan confirm the romance between Ash-Abhishek, they denied there was a wedding in the offing.“I doubt they will publicly acknowledge their relationship at this stage. At the moment, I can confidently say there’s no marriage on the horizon,” added a close friend of Abhishek.

And finally, there’s Rani. Abhishek and the Bong beauty may be good friends, but her prospects of becoming a Bachchan bahu are fairly dim. It is learnt that Rani has shown more than a ‘friendly’ interest in Abhishek, but he considers her a pal. Equally important is that she hasn’t got the much-needed approval from Jaya Bachchan, so it’s unlikely that Rani will wed baby B.

Koffee with Karan

My latest addiction (I know its a few years late) has been watching every episode of Koffee with Karan (KWK) that I can find online. For any of you that might not know, this is a show in India where one of India's BIGGEST & MOST SUCCESSFUL Directors, Karan Johar, invites the top celebs of Bollywood and talks to them about everything personal: family, friends, co-stars, relationships, affairs, marriages, divorces, bankruptcy, any kinda controversy .. u name it and he'd talk about it.

The first one I ever came across online was the one where he interviews 2 of his best friends, Shahrukh Khan and Kajol. After watching it I felt like i could go up to any of them (karan, shahrukh or kajol) and talk to them like they were my old friends. I mean they just seemed so warm and friendly .. almost like they were my friends. YES ... I KNOW thats not the case at all ... but thats just how normal and fun his interviews were. Made every celebrity just seem so regular and much like the rest of us with drama and issues and insecurities and annoyances. I was hooked! Week after week of watching KWK drew me back into Bollywood & its juicy Gossip!!!

For anyone that has NOT seen this ... its a definite MUST SEE!!! Majority of the episodes are available online and you should be able to find them quite easily. So check them out and dig deeper into all the dirt and drama!!!! I can't wait till he comes back with more. His hiatus is an open ended one so not quite sure when or if he'll come back but I'm anxiously awaiting his return.

Big Willy in New Dilly

Lauch of a new Sony Movie Channel, Pix, brought Hollywood Star Will Smith to India last week. He made full use of his time there experiencing everything India has to offer from Agra to Mumbai.

After the Pix Launch, Will visited India's largest tourist attraction the Taj Mahal. He said, walking around the world famous monument, he understood the true passion behind Taj Mahal & Shah Jahan's love for Mumtaz. He himself has something at their LA estate dedicated to his love for his wife Jada.

As big of a star as he is in the US, there was no doubt he would be pleasantly received in Bollywood but even he underestimated their largess. Superstars like Fardeen, Salman & Shahrukh Khan were more than happy to host parties for him and shower him with gifts. He graced the set of Indian Idol 2 and sang along "Aati kya khandala" with one of the contestants. As a special guest at the Filmfare Awards, he presented the Best Actress Award to Rani Mukherjee and mingled with the creme de la creme of India's Rich & Famous.

Will Smith spoke about his trip with tremendous gratitude. To reporters worldwide, he repeatedly expressed his love for India & its history, its people & their hospitality and the incredible power that is Bollywood. One thing he didn't get to experience was his favorite dish, Chiken Tikka Masala, thanks to the Bird Flu scare that hit India last week but he made do with Shrimp Tikka instead.

His future plans include trying to build bridges between Hollywood & Bollywood and working in a movie with Aishwarya Rai. He also admires Amitabh Bachchan (after watching Sarkar, Will's first Hindi movie) who is known as Big B and jokingly said he wants to be known as Big W.

Hearing about his trip to India makes me so proud and happy about the positive publicity gained by my birthplace. I hope it inspires more people worldwide to experience the unique adventure that is INDIA!
